Lisa's role and responsibility in this case is to to cover all the basis with all medical history even if it has nothing to do with the chief complaint. She has to get all the medical history as possible. It is patients opinion on how they feel, but she should try to explain that all the questions are nessecary. She should explain to them that the Dr is very experienced with this field and her experience with him, and the patient satisfactory rate. The Frances fell like the questions is not relevent to his health problem which is blood pressure. Lisa should say something to make them feel more comfortable, but it is actually up to the Dr to explain with the questions asked could be underlining another hidden reason for his blood pressure problem. The Frances got upset when lisa asked about how often was he going to the bathroom.

Lisa is a medical assistant to an endocrinologist. Her responsibility is to get and update the medical history from Mr. Frances as possible. She also has to focus on the Mr. Frances history of high blood pressuer as well as his present symptoms of frequent urination at night and his visual disturbances. Lisa must keep in mind that Mr. Frances has a history of high blood pressure and it is important to ask him questions in the most respectful way and space the questions out so he does not feel overwhelmed. Lisa does not want to seem disrespectful or upset Mrs. Frances either. Lisa should also listen to Mrs. Frances and be respecful of her opinion because he is her husband and she has his best interest at heart. Lisa should explain to them how his frequent bladder may be symptoms of something serious. Lisa should let Dr. Albright know how the Franceses are unsure if this assesment was a mistake or not and that Mrs. Frances does not feel the questions that she ask have any relevance to Mr. Francis situation. I feel that lisa should comfort Mrs. Frances to the best of her ability and reassure her that everything is going to be ok and that they are trying to take great care of her husband. I feel that Lisa should not iterject until she know that they have said everything they wanted to say about the situation. It is best to listen first ant then speak. You do not want to cut no one off while they are discussing their concerns.

It shows them that you understand how they feel about what is going on. What do you think Lisa learned from this whole experience?

Lisa's role as a medical assistant is to get Mr. Frances to answer the questions as best as he can and to insure he that the questions are not a waste of time. Lisa must keep in mind that she is responsible for getting the questions answered. Lisa can explain that she is just getting Mr. Frances medical history because letting the doctor know everything will help me better understand whats going on so he can treat Mr. Frances Lisa can tell Dr. Albright that she had a hard time getting the medical history and that Ms. Frances says its a waste of time to be here. Now that Dr. Albright knows the heads up he can insure the Franceses. Lisa should not say anything to Ms. Frances No Lisa should not address any concerns that they have she should say the doctor will answer all questions

Lisa is a medical assistant to an endocrinologist, her responsibility in this case is to get mr. James medical history. She needs to keep in mind as she listens to Mr. and Mrs. James the question at hand which is how many times does Mr. James get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and any other concerns he may have. Mrs. james seems to be getting agitated during the questioning. To reassure the Franses that Dr. Albright is the right doctor to assess Mr. James Lisa must first remain calm and compassionate and explain to them both what Dr.ALbright's position is as his doctor and let them both know how he can help him and that any questions she will be asking are all very important and would possibly explain the reason for his complaint today. Lisa can relay to Dr. Albright how disturbed they were about the questioning how they made them feel uncomfortable and they felt like it had nothing to do with while he was there for that particular visit. When Lisa finishes explaining the importance and sincerety of the questions she has to ask then after is when she should address the concerns Mr. and Mrs. James have if she already hasn't.Lisa can also let Mrs. James know thatshe hears how much it meaans to her that her huband gets the treatment that he needs and reassure her that he would definitely get that care from Dr. Albright.

I somewhat agree with your observation but say what if you can't ensure the James's that Dr. Albright is the right doctor for Mr. Frances and their minds are made up to leave his practice, what would you say to them then?

Lisa's role as a medical assistant is to gather the current and past medical history and all information pertaining to the visit. When Lisa is listening to the conversation between the Franceses she needs to keep in mind that they are concerned for Mr. Frances health and where reluctant to come to the doctors office to start with. Lisa can reassure the couple that they are at the right place and the doctor is the correct person they need to be seeing by advising them that they are here to help Mr. Frances with the problems he has been having and that the questions are necessary in assessing the problem. Lisa can let Dr. Albright know the concerns of the Franceses so that he is aware when he enters the room. Lisa should get her medical questions done with then, go into the concerns that the couple has and the reason for there visit. If Lisa notices that they are starting to get really frustrated she can start with there reason for visit and then get medical history.

I also think that you should let him know that you had a hard time gathering medical information so that he doesn't think that you just didn't compete your task. He can also assure them that they are in the right place and in good hands.
