Lisa's role as a medical assistant is to gather the current and past medical history and all information pertaining to the visit. When Lisa is listening to the conversation between the Franceses she needs to keep in mind that they are concerned for Mr. Frances health and where reluctant to come to the doctors office to start with. Lisa can reassure the couple that they are at the right place and the doctor is the correct person they need to be seeing by advising them that they are here to help Mr. Frances with the problems he has been having and that the questions are necessary in assessing the problem. Lisa can let Dr. Albright know the concerns of the Franceses so that he is aware when he enters the room. Lisa should get her medical questions done with then, go into the concerns that the couple has and the reason for there visit. If Lisa notices that they are starting to get really frustrated she can start with there reason for visit and then get medical history.

I agree with you, it would be smart for Lisa to inform Dr.Albright of their concerns so he will be more aware of the situation. I like how you wrote about the best way for Lisa to approach the situation step by step

Lisa is a medical assistant to an endocrinologist. Her responsibility is to get and update the medical history from Mr. Frances as possible. She also has to focus on the Mr. Frances history of high blood pressuer as well as his present symptoms of frequent urination at night and his visual disturbances. Lisa must keep in mind that Mr. Frances has a history of high blood pressure and it is important to ask him questions in the most respectful way and space the questions out so he does not feel overwhelmed. Lisa does not want to seem disrespectful or upset Mrs. Frances either. Lisa should also listen to Mrs. Frances and be respecful of her opinion because he is her husband and she has his best interest at heart. Lisa should explain to them how his frequent bladder may be symptoms of something serious. Lisa should let Dr. Albright know how the Franceses are unsure if this assesment was a mistake or not and that Mrs. Frances does not feel the questions that she ask have any relevance to Mr. Francis situation. I feel that lisa should comfort Mrs. Frances to the best of her ability and reassure her that everything is going to be ok and that they are trying to take great care of her husband. I feel that Lisa should not iterject until she know that they have said everything they wanted to say about the situation. It is best to listen first ant then speak. You do not want to cut no one off while they are discussing their concerns. I agree with you on what Lisa roles were and how she should handle her responsibilities .

Lisa's roll is a medical assistant. Her responsibilities are to keep medical records of James Frances. While listening to Mr. and Mrs. Frances, Lisa must listen to their questions and observe Mr. Frances's behavior. She must also keep in mind of Mr. Frances's history of blood pressure. She should ensure them that this doctor is the right one for them and that everything is going to be okay with her husband. Lisa should let Dr. Albright know of Mrs. Frances concerns about her husband and to look into the symptoms that she is mentioning about her husband. Lisa should reasure Mrs. Frances that they are taking good care of her husband and that she will speak with the doctor. Lisa should interject once she knows that everything has been said that needs to be said and that Mr. and Mrs. Frances have been completely taken care of.

Kelsie, I agree with you about keeping the family members well informed. When a patient is having any type of procedure done they are always nervous and can forget things that are important to tell the doctor. Making sure that everyone involved is informed will help the patient.

o See page 4-5 of your study guide for instructions and questions. Make sure to also read and reply to at least one other classmate. DUE BY 7/10Lisa's role as a medical assistant in this is to an endocrinologist. Some of the things that she must keep in mind while listening to the conversation between Mr. an Mrs. Frances is that they are nervous about what is going on and they need to know each step that is taken and why it is being done to ensure Mr. Frances gets the right diagnoses. Lisa should not say too much to Mrs. Frances so that she does not anger her but she does need to let the doctor know that they are having some serious doubts about coming to him so that he can try to explain things better to her. Sometimes a patient and their family needs to hear the doctor explain exactly what is going on.

Some patient need to hear the situation directly from a Doctor instead of hearing it from a MA

Lisa's job as a MA is to get all of Mr. Frances medical history and assure him that he must answer all questions to bthe best of his knowledge and that this is not a waste of time because the more information I provide the Dr with the faster he can diagnosis the problem. Lisa should let the Dr. Know about Mrs. Frances concerns about the information and let him handle it from there.

Lisa's role as a medical assistant is to get Mr. Frances to answer the questions as best as he can and to insure he that the questions are not a waste of time. Lisa must keep in mind that she is responsible for getting the questions answered. Lisa can explain that she is just getting Mr. Frances medical history because letting the doctor know everything will help me better understand whats going on so he can treat Mr. Frances Lisa can tell Dr. Albright that she had a hard time getting the medical history and that Ms. Frances says its a waste of time to be here. Now that Dr. Albright knows the heads up he can insure the Franceses. Lisa should not say anything to Ms. Frances No Lisa should not address any concerns that they have she should say the doctor will answer all questions I agree with you Ashley because if Lisa answers a question and she doesn't have the correct answer it could back fire and make the France's even more frustrated.
