A medical assistant and the physician can respect each others roles and levels of education is to work together. He/she has to realize the physican has had more training on the proper ways to do things and the ma should listen and learn from them. He/she is there to make sure the patients get the best care possible so if they ask you to do something, do it. It is also important to have a medical assistant to be positive reputation in a medical office by being professional. Whether you are working in the front or the back of the office, you are the first person they see before the doctor. They depend on you to know what you are doing. Being polite and compassionate is a plus. A medical assistant should handle a conflict with a physican by talking it out privitly away from customers and coworkers, and don't be afraid voice your opinion because they may not be aware how they are coming over (ex: their voice or there attitude ). If you don't understand what someone is trying to say or explain on how to do something, don't hesistate to ask questions to have a clear understanding on with needs to be done. Its always better to ask questions then to guess at something that my cause harm to yourself or someone else. The medical assistant role to break the communication barriers is to pay attention, listen, ask questions, repeat with the patients, doctor, or coworkers. Always double check your information.

Both the physician and the medical assistant can respect each other's roles and levels of education by trying to learn something new from one another and help each other out. There is nothing wrong with working as a team. A medical assistant plays a part in the positive reputation of a medical office because they help with recording medical history, taking vital signs, and collecting laboratory specimen and are professional and empathetic by doing so.For one, the medical assistant and physician should go somewhere private for them to discuss the conflict. No one outside of them two should know what's going on. It is important to never cause a scene in front of other employees or the patient's. It doesn't make that facility look professional. Both should listen to each other and explain their concerns in a respectful manner. Some effective strategies that can be implemented to break down communication barriers are making sure everyone is listening to one another, staying calm at all time, and get your point across respectfully. Most importantly it is important to stay positive. The role the medical assistant plays in breaking down communication barriers are how they listen attentively, show concern and understanding while taking care of a patients.

I agree with you, voicing your opinion is the only way someone will know how you feel about a situation. If you don't speak up the problem will not be solved. I think the medical assistant should learn as much as she can from the physician.

But, you have to be aware not to break the HIPPA laws to.

See study guide, page 6 DUE BY 7/17A physician and a MA can respect one another by keeping in mind that they are both there to help the patients, just in different forms. Both of the doctor and the MA are depended on by the patients in a high regard. The MA in the office plays a vital part in the reputation of the office because we are the first ones that the patient and the family members see. The first person that any one sees sets the standard for the office and the reputation. I believe that the way a MA should handle any type of conflict that they may have with the MD is to talk about it in the most professional manner. They should not let the patients or anyone else see that they are upset by something that was said or done by the MD. They should talk in a private area, maybe with another person in the room. The main role that a MA plays in breaking down the barriers of communication in a medical office or any where that they are working is to talk to the patients and make sure that all questions or worries that they have is answered. By talking to the MD the MA can make sure to communicate by relaying any type of information that they may need to know.

See study guide, page 6 DUE BY 7/171. How can both physician and medical assistant respect each others roles and levels of education? The physician and MA need to work as a team but the MA also needs to respect the physician. The physician has had more schooling and knows more than the MA. 2. how does a medical assistant play a part in the positive reputation of medical office? The MA needs to be nice and professional since they are the first ones to see or talk to the Patient. 3. how should a medical assistant handle a conflict with a physician? the ma needs to wait until the physician and ma is alone and address the conflict in a calm and collect manner. the ma needs to say what he or she is feeling about the conflict and so does the physician. at the end all should be in agreement. 4. what do you perceive to be effective strategies that can be implemented to break down barriers to communication in the medical office? listening, and paying attention. 5. what role does the medical assistant play in breaking down barriers to communication in the medical office? the ma needs to pay attention to the patient concerns, be considerate, and listen. Sometimes repeating what was said to the patient knows that you are listening.

I agree, a medical assistant and a physician should work together because it provides a better out come for the patient. I also agree that that a MA should talk to the physician alone when they have a conflict.

I think the best way that a medical assistant and a physician can respect each other's role and level of education would be by realizing that both roles have a bright outcome for the future. They both are there for patient care and making sure that every patient is getting the best possible care. A medical assistant plays a very positive role in the medical office by recording medical history, taking vitals, and getting everything they can get done so that the physician has all the information they need before meeting with the patient. I think the best way to handle a conflict with a physician is asking to speak with them in a private area. Also speak to them in a respectful manner and never raise your voice or cause a scene in your work place.
